Activities are offered by diverse and affordable sports venues, nature, the vibrant Adult Education Centre, and an active community life. For children there are clubs, sports clubs, and the possibility of playing music at the Music Institute of Northeast Lapland.

The municipality of Salla wants to take good care of its inhabitants. There is quick access to visit doctors and the municipal healthcare invests in a high level of geriatric knowhow, i.e. elderly care.

The inhabitants of the municipality can visit the spa for half price. As a tradition, the municipality offers a season pass to the ski slopes for all municipal schoolchildren and students for only 20 euros. There is also a significant discount for the adult season pass.

New parents receive baby money, and the early-childhood education and schools are cutting edge. The schools have small class sizes, and the teaching is individualised.

There are two grocery stores in the centre of the municipality of Salla and many specialty shops, so almost everything needed for day-to-day life is available close by.
