Summer high school

Become a student in an international group at Salla and enjoy the summer nature of southern Lapland and the midnight sun of the north!

Salla’s summer high school offers languages, arts, home economics and an international atmosphere. Courses vary annually. The studies are open to everyone, so anyone can acquire new information and experiences at the summer high school.

The summer high school lasts two weeks, during which you can complete one to three high-school courses.

There are also students from abroad attending the summer high school in Salla, through the Finnish Summer High School Association, giving you the opportunity to improve your foreign-language skills.

The summer high school is organised by Salla’s Adult Education Centre. Salla High School offers the facilities.

The activities are coordinated and marketed by the Finnish Summer High School Association. Positive learning experiences, active time together, and personal growth are emphasised.

Other programmes

The summer high school hosts soirees where it is possible for the students to become better acquainted. We also organise free excursions.

We spend a day hiking at the Salla National Park and Salla Wilderness Park. Traditionally, we also climb to the summit of the Salla fell to admire the scenery and midnight sun. We also make an excursion to Rovaniemi and the Salla Museum of War and Reconstruction.

In addition, you can go for a swim, play ball sports, hike and bike.
